Cares For America
Cares for America is a “Pay it Forward” program designed to give healthcare providers a means of offering care with dignity to a select number of patients, or clients per month.
In a nutshell its volunteerism in exchange for care.
Here’s how it works. A provider decides how many visits, hours of time, or a dollar amount per month they are willing, and can afford to “donate” to people in need of care that they can’t afford. Then at a provider’s discretion, they or their staff inform select patients or clients to inform about the program, (“Providers Name or Clinic Name) Cares for America”. A provider explains that they will provide that client/patient the care they need, the client /patient pays an amount they can afford to pay that day. The remaining balance can then be paid off using this formula:
A mutually decided upon number of hours X A predetermined dollar value per hour) = Payment for the value of services received.
Example: Miss Jones is seen for a migraine headache; she can only afford to pay $50 towards the SimpleCare fee of $100. Knowing Miss Jones is an established client or patient, the provider explains “Cares for America” to her. The provider and Miss Jones agree on a form of community service that she will do to “Pay Forward” the remaining balance of $50. She will have a determined amount of time to do this in and provide the providers office with proof of her service, in the form of a signed form the provider gives her or a letter from the charitable organization or entity that she serves. Her debt to you is now paid, and you both can feel good about you giving, and her receiving, care with dignity.
As an added incentive for the patient to follow through with this agreement, the patient/client must leave credit card information to be billed for the remaining balance owed if proof of service is not given with in the agreed time frame. The providers staff will follow through with their standard office policies of collections to set a boundary and standard for this program to work. “Cares for America” is a philanthropic program that creates a win-win-win situation:
- A provider gives a well-deserved and needed service that the provider u can right off as a donation to the charity your patient gives services to.
- A patient or client received the care they deserve and need with dignity.
- The Charity receives needed volunteerism for their cause.
